The inner Hebridean Isle
of Islay owes its fame as the home of superb malt whiskies equally to its
climate and the abundant supplies of peat.
Bowmore Distillery, one of
the oldest distilleries on the Island, was established in 1779 on the
shores of Lochindaal.
The charm of Bowmore Malt
Whisky is due, in part, to the traditional distilling methods still in use
today and the natural adventages of the cool, moist sea breezes and dark
aromatic peat which all combine to give Bowmore its unique quality as a
fine example of an Islay Malt Whisky.
